I started knitting when I was 10, through my local 4H club. I learned the basic stitches and my first project was a small, garter-stitch Kleenex holder that I gave to my grandmother. By the age of 13, I knit my first sweater, which I still own. I left knitting behind for many years, but found myself returning to it as something to keep me occupied in my downtime (I do not sit quietly well). I eventually started watching videos and haunting my local yarn stores, correcting technical errors and learning new techniques. I also realized that I was buying tools to make my knitting better, easier, or more consistent. I purchased a lot of little tools, trying to figure out what worked best, what was going to snag my work, what was going to increase my knitting speed, and ultimately what was making me a better knitter. I got frustrated that there wasn’t a single place to learn about these tools and help me save money by buying the right tools up front, so I decided to do something about it. I’m also sharing with you what projects I have on my needles, how I organize my stash (who am I kidding? that’s stashes, with a plural), and any interesting little tidbits I come across in Teresa’s Corner.
